Descendants John Hart and Elizabeth Camp
Also aboard was John and Elizabeth's married son John (age 28) and his wife Sarah Pearse (age 32) and their children Charles (age 7) and Priscilla (age 5). Also aboard, John and Elizabeth's son Stephen (age 25) and his wife Elizabeth Sharland (age 25).
John Hart senior died only two weeks after arriving in Melbourne.
Son, George Hart had arrived in Melbourne three years earlier in August 1848 aboard the Cornwall accompanied by his wife Sarah Gregory and also his brother, Daniel. George and Sarah had married only a few months before departing England.
Sarah Gregory's sisters, Eliza and Fanny and her brother George arrived on the Stebonheath with the rest of the Hart faimily in 1851. Family historian Karen Hart says that the Gregory siblings were neices of Elizabeth Camp. If this is correct then Elizabeth Camp's parents, John Camp and Sarah Whittacks (?) are also the grandparents of the Gregory siblings. It also means that George Hart married his cousin.
Perhaps these pages would be better titled "descendants of John Camp and Sarah Whittacks". I would definitely like to include information on the Gregory siblings should anyone have some. All I have is that their parents were Samuel Gregory and Phoebe Camp.
