THOMAS FERGUSON, of Greenville, Co Down, and of Ballysillen, Co Antrim; born 26 Oct 1795; married 12 Feb 1827, Emma (died 27 Nov 1860), daughter of Thomas Benyon, of New Grange Hall, Leeds, and died 7 Jan 1859, leaving issue,

2a Thomas Benyon, Barrister-at-law; born 18 Nov 1836; married 8 March, 1869, Hon Emma Amelia (died 2 Dec 1931), daughter of Capt Hon Byron Charles Ferdinand Plantagenet Cary, and sister of 12th Viscount Falkland (see BURKE'S Peerage), and died at sea, 24 Feb 1874, leaving issue,

COL. JOHN STEPHENSON FERGUSON, 2nd life Gds; born 17 May, 1834; educated Rugby; married 10 June, 1863, Sophia Jane (died 4 Feb 1928), youngest daughter of John Holford, of Rusholme Hall, Lancs (see HOLFORD of Duntish Court), and died 11 Jan 1885, having had issue,

1a VICTOR JOHN FERGUS, of whom presently.

2a ALGERNON FRANCIS HOLFORD, succeeded his bro.

3a Ivor Andrew Benyon; born 2 Jan 1874; educated Eton; died 5 Nov 1938.

VICTOR JOHN FERGUS FERGUSON, of Polebrooke Hall, Northants (which he purchased 1885), Maj Roy Horse Gds; born 18 April, 1864; educated Eton, and RMC Sandhurst; died on active service in Ashanti, 8 Jan 1896, and was succeeded by his bro.

BRIG.-GEN. ALGERNON FRANCIS HOLFORD FERGUSON, of Polebrooke Hall, Northants, DL, JP, CA, High Sheriff 1923, served in S. African War 1900-02, and in WW I 1914-19, cmded 2nd Regt Life Gds 1911-16 (wounded), Brig-Gen 1915; born 27 Sept 1867; educated Eton, and RMC Sandhurst; married 21 April, 1897, Hon Margaret Brand (died 27 Sept 1948), eldest daughter of 2nd Viscount Hampden and 24th Baron Dacre (see BURKE'S Peerage, HAMPDEN, V), and died 5 Nov 1943, having had issue,

1a Victor John, Lt 2nd Life Gds, served in WW I; born 3 Feb 1898; educated Eton, killed in action , 21 Aug 1918.

2a ANDREW HENRY, of whom presently.

3a George Algernon Holford; born 31 March, 1905; died 24 July, 1911.

1a Margaret Susan; born 1 April, 1906; married 24 July, 1931, Lt-Col Frederick Edwin Barton Wignall, The Life Gds, and died 1 April, 1939, leaving issue, two daughters. (see 1952 edn, WIGNALL of Cambusmore). He died 9 Nov 1956.

2a •Jane Charlotte; born 26 July, 1912; married 18 Sept 1934, •Sir William Albemarle Fellowes, K.CVO, DL (Flitcham House, Kings Lynn, Norfolk), youngest son of late Charles Arthur Fellowes, JP, of Shotesham Park, Norfolk, and has issue, two sons and two daughters. (see that family, Volume I).

ANDREW HENRY FERGUSON, The Life Gds (ret), of Dummer Down House, Dummer, Hants, served in WW II in Middle East and Germany, Col cmdg The Life Gds 1940-44; born 10 Oct 1899; educated Eton, and RMC Sandhurst; married 1 Nov 1927, •Marian Louisa (who married 2nd, 30 Oct 1968, Air Marshal Sir Thomas Walker Elmhirst, KBE, CB, AFC, DL, RAF (ret) (The Cottage, Dummer, Basingstoke, Hants), 4th s of late Rev William Heaton Elmhirst, of Elmhirst, Barnsley, Yorks (see that family)), elder daughter of late Col Lord Herbert Andrew Montagu-Douglas-Scott, CMG, DSO, DL, (see BURKE'S Peerage, BUCCLEUCH, D), and died 4 Aug 1966, having had issue,
