Other titles under name Burton: A Barony of Burton was conferred in Jan 1711/2 on the 1st Earl of Uxbridge of the 1714 created (see ANGLESEY, M) before his promotion to the higher rank. A subsidiary title of the Earls of Egmont (qv) is Baron Perceval of Burton. In addition the name Burton appears as a place name in the full recital of titles connected with the Monson Barony of 1728 (qv) and the Oxenbridge Viscountcy of 1886 briefly held with it. Lastly, Pitt the Elder was created Baron Pitt of Burton Pynsent, though he is of course better known under his superior peerage title Earl of Chatham.
